To achieve this we need the appropriate representation, something that the current representatives have not been able to do ,

It was expected of our elected representatives that they would have delivered their electoral promises to our community however after 8 years in the Italian Parliament they have not been able to deliver anything that is positive for our community it’s time for a change.Our community opportunities have been wasted for the last 8 years as the current representatives have not be able to give us affective representation to date.

Electing Mr Cossari to represent this great country in Italy at the coming elections will do justice not only to the Italian People but will support Australian incentives to the wellbeing of the broader community.A recent survey of the Italo – Australian voters showed that a good 80% are disenchanted with the current Italian Elected representatives, they are nowhere to be seen, their non-representation has left most if not all votes disappointed and disillusioned with their overall performance.

Voting on the grounds of theoretical ideology will mean that you are voting for neglect, and we have had lots of neglect in the last 8 years, we don’t want more of the same the general public has had enough. How do we maintain our Culture alive

Following up the recent article in relation to Senator Mantica visit to Australia, i would like to add some other issues in support of the Italian community in Australia ensuring that our culture can prosper here.
We all know that been an Italian in Australia has now become fashionable with the second and third generation of Italians in the belief that they are Italians like their grandparents , however they are far removed from the reality of the early days of their arrival in Australia , their grandparents did not speak the language they were discriminated by the local residents practically treated as outcastes who had to humble themselves before overwhelming odds , odds that they their grandchildren would not accept today.
Thanks to the early arrivals who paid the price and pave the way to today’s successful generations , for a while it seemed that Italians would no longer migrate to this continent , then with successful lobbying by various Italian lobby groups, Australia opened its gates with a working holiday visa at the beginning it was a trickle  now Italian youth are flooding Australia as visitors and some of them are obtaining permanent residency giving them the opportunity for settlement.

to mention a few of the services that new arrivals will want to have for their future offspring’s Italian language classes creates cultural knowledge which is very important for the development of future generations who will one day be called to vote, an informed electorate is beneficial to all.

The Chines have perfected the art of maintain their traditions and languages and we should not be usurped by others, most if not all Chines children speak fluent Chines besides the local language, Italy should enhance the tuition tools for the upcoming new generations as it is very important for all parties to maintain these links .

These facilities will be needed to maintain the culture alive, the Italian Government of the day cannot repeat the same mistakes of the past where it abandoned its immigrants, the nurturing of the culture through these facilities will ensure the survival of the Italian export markets well into the future, it is this type of thinking that will continue to power the Italian economic miracle, the survival of the made in Italy Label depends on these future generations so that the made in Italy brand can continue to have a leading edge in a very competitive market these opportunities come once in a lifetime , as they say in my home town of Borgia the Saint passes by once its then you should ask for that miraclethen  not after the opportunity has passed by, the Saint in terms of potential markets is now arriving at the shores of the Australian Continent let’s not ignore this potential lets be proactive.

Reinforcing the above ideas has the support of a group of mothers who have lobbied me as a Leader of the Destra to bring to the attention of the current Italian government the issues Kinder gardens, weekend schools, libraries sporting opportunity for young Italo- Australians is now becoming visible with the added influx of new arrivals it is of utmost importance that the Italian Government looks at this seriously.

In the municipality that I preside over we are building a sports complex to the value of 35 million dollars that includes a Basket Ball stadium and Soccer fields to cater to a large number of young soccer players this sport is fast catching up to Australian football game , I could imagine one day that these youngsters sporting AC Milan Logos on their shirts with pride at soccer matches, a sponsorships of this kind would attract potential future tourism, including purchasers of Italian products thus keeping the Italian manufacturing motors running, sponsorships as well as an Italian private Tv channel beaming out its message not only into the Australian continent but to the Asian region promoting Italian quality products to the wealthy Asian market , the opportunities are endless. I finish with, if Italy had financed Christopher Colombo trip to the new world America would by now be an Italian Speaking Continent, remember it was the adventures that changed the world not those that stayed at home. Melbourne the home of some 40,000 Italian Citizens who have voting right was visited by Senator Mantica of the Italian Government on this occasion the Senator met with me Giuseppe(Joe) Cossari representative of PDL in Australia at the meeting the following was discussed.

Most Italians in Australia are not aware of the function of the Comites this makes the Comites irrelevant within the community, if the Government of the day needs better input from the community it must increase its funding. Australian Italians generally are all interested in Italian Culture and products tourisms, this entity can fill the gaps as it is the closest to the Public.

Informing the aging Population through

Make available free to Air Italian TV (This can be financed through product promotions) this will expand further Italian products market encouraging further purchases of Italian product, making the Made in Italy Brand more successful, with added value of increase of Tourism .

On the Right to Vote

Remembering that this Electorate believes heavily in the Australian system, be it for voting or election campaigning and judges all things through Anglo Saxon eyes we need to run an election campaign that meets this criteria, giving the opportunity for greater voter participation. Communicate through the Local Media explaining the Voting Process and the purpose of the Vote this will encourage greater voter participation

Giuseppe (Joe) Cossari è un figlio di Borgia che negli anni ha onorato degnamente il nome del suo paese di nascita, portandolo in giro per il mondo e facendolo conoscere nei palazzi della politica e delle istituzioni internazionali.
Nato nel 1947 in una Borgia poverissima e in piena emigrazione. Giovanissimo si trasferisce con la sua famiglia in Australia, dove con sacrifici e rinunce costruisce la sua vita professionale e familiare. È sposato con Rosa, anche lei italiana, ed hanno due figli.
La sua carriera inizia da subito perché Giuseppe è un uomo solido, sincero e sempre disponibile con tutti, è quello che oggi diremo: un uomo d’altri tempi. Queste sue doti sono infatti apprezzate da tutti gli italiani presenti in Australia ma anche dagli stessi australiani che in lui riconoscono l’italiano capace e leale.
E’ stato consigliere comunale di Maroondah, distinguendosi per la serietà del suo lavoro. Gli anni successivi viene eletto sindaco di questa città di circa centomila abitanti. Un successo questo di Joe che rappresenta una vittoria per la Calabria e per l’Italia tutta. Un borgese a sindaco di una città in Australia.
In poco tempo arriva anche la nomina di esperto nella Consulta calabrese, che è un organo consultivo, istituito in seno al Consiglio Regionale della Calabria, ed aperto alla professionalità e alle esperienze portate dai tanti calabresi di successo che onorano, nel mondo intero, la Calabria.
E’ direttore del Patronato ENAS dell’Australia e delegato del CTIM che è il Comitato Tricolore per gli Italiani nel Mondo. Inoltre è responsabile per l’Oceania dell’Associazione “Azzurri nel mondo”.
Egli ha sempre promosso e difeso la Cultura Italiana in Australia ed è stato forte sostenitore del voto agli Italiani all’estero nella convinzione che questo diritto possa contribuire a creare un legame più forte con la propria terra d’origine.
Un riconoscimento alle sue abilità viene ulteriormente ribadito dal Presidente della Repubblica Italiana che gli conferisce l’alta onorificenza di Cavaliere della Repubblica Italiana per gli alti meriti raggiunti e per aver onorato l’Italia in terra australiana.
Ma la sua crescita politica e professionale non si è fermata perché Joe è un uomo pieno di idee concrete e di soluzioni efficaci. Parlare con lui costituisce un ottimo rimedio all’assopimento mentale e contro il distacco dalla politica, perché è un uomo coinvolgente, di ardente passione politica, di quella politica al servizio della collettività e per il bene comune. Certo si tratta di un politico particolare e sensibile che riesce a trovare un qualunque moto di crescita e di progresso in ogni contesto sociale riuscendo a svilupparlo. Negli anni vissuti in Australia, a contatto con la cultura locale, è riuscito a conservare i valori propri della nostra terra.
Nel 2007 viene nominato Giudice di Pace. E da ultimo conquista un seggio di consigliere comunale di Knox, una città di centocinquantamila abitanti. Certamente la sua carriera politica non finisce qui perché Giuseppe è un uomo in crescita, di buone ambizioni e progetti. Parlando con lui ben si capisce che ancora, come borgese, ci darà tante soddisfazioni, andando ad allungare il suo ricco “palmares” di successi politici e professionali.

He grew up and raised a family in Australia, is an accomplished business and civic leader and yet he has never forgotten his cultural heritage.Mr Cossari has a long history with the businesses and community of the City of Maroondah and a long involvement with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry over the last 30 years. Joe also has had extensive experience in primary produce, importing, and property development. Mr Cossari has served as President of the Ringwood Chamber of Commerce and Industry and as Mayor of the City of Maroondah. He is a founding member of NIMAC (Network of Italian Mayors and Councillors) and a life member of the Ringwood Chamber of Commerce. Mr Cossari is also responsible for the Patronato ENAS/UGL Australia whose primary purpose is to offer free assistance with applications for Italian Pension services. Antonio Giuliani - AN-PDL Melbourne Australia : Grande successo di JoeCossari nel Comune di Knox per le Elezioni Comunali del Victoria Voglio esprimere le mie piu sincere congratulazioni per il successoottenuto dal responsabile del Centro-Destra del Victoria Joe Cossari,che il 30 Novembre scorso ha vinto le elezioni per il Comune di Knox(Victoria- Australia),Knox e' un Comune di circa 150.000 abitanti. Questa vittoria per Joe Cossari non e' solo una normale vittoria ma e'una riconferma delle sue doti politiche ed esperienza in campagnaelettorale, infatti Joe Cossari candidatosi come indipendente ha dovutoaffrontare 4 ostici candidati rappresentanti del partito Laburista einoltre il Comune di Knox e' nuovo per Cossari, infatti lui fa parte delcomune di Maroondah dove alcune anni fa' e stato gia' eletto.Joe Cossari ha raccolto la sfida di presentarsi nel commune di Knox,nonostante i suoi colleghi gli insistevano per presentarsi nella suavecchia sede di Maroondah, cui il successo sarebbe stato assicurato,malui, ha scelto di correre per la città di Knox solo per la sfida e ilsuccesso e' arrivato, e' evidente che la sua esperienza ha svolto unimportante ruolo nel raggiungimento del suo obiettivo.Questa vittoria e anche un premio per il lavoro svolto in tanti anni dicoinvolgimento Politico e Sociale che ha sempre visto Joe Cossari inprima linea, insieme al suo gruppo del Centro-Destra di Melbourne cheanche per questa elezione erano presenti fuori dai seggi per ladistribuzione dei volantini elettorali che indicano la preferenza delcandidato.

Il taglio dei fondi alle istituzioni per gli italiani all’estero
Cara Italia,
I tuoi figli stanno chiedendo a gran voce di continuare a ricevere il 100% di assistenza economica no un taglio 60%.
Non puoi nemmeno immaginare la miriade di organizzazioni per le quali i tuoi figli chiedono la tua attenzione per non discriminare nessuno hai deciso di tagliare i fondi a tutti, una mossa moralmente corretta.
Tuttavia, alcune di queste associazioni sono più vitali di altre; si dice che buona parte dei soldi ricevuti sia stata sprecata, che sia finita in qualche buco nero. A causa di questo ti ritrovi nel mezzo di una tempesta, su un’imbarcazione che non riesci a guidare.
Devi prendere il controllo della nave, e l’unico meccanismo che hai a disposizione sono i COMITES, delle istituzioni pubblicamente elette che possono svolgere un ruolo chiave nella gestione corretta dei fondi, impedendo gli sprechi.
Sarebbe allora opportuno riformare queste istituzioni dando loro un mandato di responsabilità, cambiando anche delle clausole statutarie che ne limitano l’operatività e l’efficienza: ad esempio oggi i membri Comites devono prendere visione delle richieste fondi a loro sottoposte, ma che questa presa visione non è vincolante, così spesso il voto ha luogo senza che i partecipanti abbiano effettivamente letto la proposta.
A mio avviso il Comites è, all’interno della nostra comunità, l’istituzione eletta più importante; è vicina all’elettorato ed in grado di rispondere alle esigenze della popolazione italiana in modo accurato. Tuttavia, tu, madre Italia devi dare a questo organo i mezzi giusti per consentirgli di poter operare, devi fornire delle nuove linee guida che siano specchio dei tuoi bisogni e delle necessità della comunità.
Sono maturi i tempi affinché il Comites risponda del proprio operato al suo elettorato e al governo italiano. Tra i suoi nuovi compiti si dovrebbe prevedere che tutte le richieste fondi siano debitamente ratificate da questo organo; tutte le organizzazioni richiedenti finanziamenti al governo italiano dovrebbero prima essere registrate presso questo istituto.
Il Comites dovrebbe in altre parole assumere un ruolo paragonabile alle istituzioni governative locali; ovviamente ciò richiederà i giusti fondi al fine di consentirgli di svolgere l’attività assegnata.
In conclusione, è giunta l’ora del cambiamento: il PDL ha di fronte un mandato quinquennale con il sostegno pieno della popolazione; è il momento di affrontare le questioni rimaste in sospeso oramai da troppo tempo.
